Built by an employee of RubiTrux, this 2006 TJ Unlimited Rubicon had the factory TJ Dana 44s swapped for JK Rubicon 44s to address a few issues on the TJ 44s. The JK axles are rated for a heavier weighted vehicle and are wider than a TJ Dana 44, making them heavier duty and better fit for the application. Being wider allowed more room to properly mount the coilovers and gain an extra inch of travel. Pinions in the JK 44s are also larger than the Dana 44 TJ pinions. Being a JK axle, it allows for larger brakes, more wheel selection, better factory style upgraded steering and more; basically the JK 44s are where all the R&D is and is a better 44 to build on than the TJ 44. High steer knuckles move the TeraFlex heavy duty tie rod up for more clearance and allows for true high steer with a TeraFlex heavy duty drag link. This paired with the PSC Big Bore Steering Box with Hydro Assist allows the Jeep to be easily steered at 5MPH or 85 MPH, you can even take your hands off the wheel; one of the better steering Jeeps I have driven and it was designed to be that way. The JK front TeraFlex Big Brake Kit addresses the tire size and the rear brakes are JK calipers paired with oversize rotors and EBC Green pads to maximize braking performance. The front coilovers are 12" travel, while the rear shock specs at 14" of travel; with a 3 link front and 4 link rear, this suspension provides impressive travel. The rear was stretched 4" and this addresses the angles for offroad but also adds to the on-road drive-ability in a positive way. The control arms are solid aluminum long arms with Rock Krawler Krawler joints to provide maximum articulation and on road comfort vibration dampening. This Jeep rides, drives, and handles incredibly well. The front RCV axle shafts allow for bindless performance and are warrantied for life for up to a 40" tire, the rear chromoloy axle shafts are also lifetime warranty. The wheels are true beadlocks and color matched. The Jeep has aluminum fenders and armor all around color matched or black accents, front and rear bumpers are steel. Baja Designs XL80s, Morimoto Super7s custom etched (does not impact beam), Warn LED light pods and a Morimoto 50" light bar wrap up the front the the Jeep's lighting accessories. Everything is controlled through an sPOD, including the lockers for ease of use. There is a primary switch for the lockers separate from the sPOD, basically a safety net since the lockers can be used in 2H, 4H, or 4L if needed. This is so if anyone hits the switch while driving there is no detriment to the differential, so when offroad or whenever they are being used you flip one switch to allow the two switches for front and rear on the sPOD to operate the lockers easily. A Warn Zeon 10s was the winch of choice; ARB rear differential cover in the rear and a Dana heavy duty cover is on the front (from the Mopar Military J8 axle housings). Upgraded JK parts were used where they could to keep everything factory serviceable and to provide the best quality of product for the build. There are few TJ parts offered that will give you the best of both worlds; heavy duty performance with ease of serviceability. Bartact seat covers have been on since purchase, the Bestop Trektop NX provides the Sunrider feature and there is a SpiderWebShade as well under the top. The Trektop also has a built in Bikini top, just unzip the windows and remove the rear window. Included in the price is a Rock Hard 4x4 bolt in cage with frame tie ins new in the box. The engine was gone through and new coolant/radiator hoses installed, fresh coolant, new water pump gasket, and new injector o-rings were installed. One of our engine techs went through this engine bay and that was all that needed to be done only because coming up on 100K miles; these issues were not causing problems but thought it best to replace them so the next owner has a low maintenance ownership. The Jeep will also include factory half doors and full doors both factory color
